Keywords:
Astronomy, Geodesy, History of science, Scientist, MexicoAbstract
The restlessness of humanity to look at the sky has been a reason for the construction of mechanisms to observe and study in detail the space. Through the contributions of different sciences such as mathematics, physics, geography, geology, meteorology, among others, these advances in Astronomy have been synthesized. The understanding and analysis of these studies and scientific achievements could be visualized through the "Geodesy and Practical Astronomy" professorship, taught at the National School of Engineers in Mexico at the end of the 19th century. The subject responded to different needs of the country, for that reason, it was changing its program of studies, the texts that were left, the professors who taught it and even its own name. The proposal of the present paper consists of glimpsing the space in which this chair evolved, analyzing thus, the networks and productions that were obtained from it.
